Worship Times and Description

Worship is the most important thing we do as a community of faith. We offer to God our praise and thanksgiving. We hear the story of God’s abiding and deep love for all people. We experience and know the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. As we worship, we offer up our very lives to God, and for the gift of worship we give thanks and praise.   – Pastor Mark Aune

We strive to provide worship opportunities that are meaning, uplifting, and relevant, giving those who attend the tools they need to live out their faith in their daily lives. Worship provides us a chance to gather in God’s house, be challenged and comforted by God’s Word, be uplifted by songs of praise, and be strengthened by the bread and wine. We have an excellent Music Ministry with vocal and bell choirs, as well as instrumental ensembles and soloists that regularly enrich our services.

(September to May)

These worship services offer traditional hymns, liturgy, vocal and bell choirs. These services strengthen us with relevant, thought-provoking preaching; inspire us through the beautiful sound of the pipe organ and choirs; and uplift us as we experience God’s grace and love in Jesus Christ.

(September to May)

The Contemporary service invites worshippers to experience the love of God in Jesus Christ in an informal style of praise and worship. Augustana’s Celebration Band leads the music in this service, playing a variety of musical styles, emphasizing contemporary Christian music. Holy Communion is celebrated every week at this service.

Augustana provides van transportation to church each Sunday morning for the 9:45 am service. The van runs from September through mid-May. Call the church office to schedule a ride.

Sign language interpretation will be offered at the 9:45 am service on the first Sunday of every month.  Other services are available by request one week in advance.  Please contact the church office with requests or questions.

Ash Wednesday Worship

February 14 at 7:07 pm

Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent, a time of simplicity and preparation–a time of prayer, service, and self examination. Christians use ashes to mark themselves with the Cross of Christ as a humble reminder of salvation’s great cost. The Pastors’ words, “remember you are dust and to dust you shall return” are hard words on the surface, but in Jesus we have the courage to acknowledge our own mortality and brokenness. At the same time we are not afraid to go out into the world knowing that even though we are dust, we are also God’s beloved, forgiven, and restored children.
