Youth Ministry at Augustana
Grades 7 – 12
We offer youth and their families a wide array of faith building and mission focused activities, classes, camps and trips. We have an excellent Confirmation program, a summer camping program, and age appropriate gatherings for Junior and Senior High persons.
CONFIRMATION AGE YOUTH GRADES 7-9
Confirmation Wednesday evenings, 5:50 to 7:00 pm
(September to May)
Our Confirmation program is a dynamic mix of large group instruction and small group gatherings that allow students and their families to learn about faith together as they move toward affirming faith which occurs at Augustana in the Fall of the tenth grade year.
One of the unique features of our program is Lenten Mentoring which matches each student with an adult mentor during Lent for 6 weeks of faith-based discussion and learning. This one program has done wonders to break down barriers between youth and adults in the congregation.
YOUTH FORUM, GRADES 7 TO 12
Sunday mornings, 9:45 am (September to May)
Each Sunday we offer topical and education forums for young people. Students in grades 7 to 12 meet in the Youth Center. Presentations and discussions on topics relevant to today’s youth. Refreshments are served!
