Summer Stretch Days, High School Retreat, and Confirmation Lock-in

We have a variety of youth events and activities planned for the summer. Participating in these events will be a great way to connect with old and new friends! Below you'll find a description and more details for each event. Augustana youth and friends are welcome to join any of our summer activities. Check for grade specifications with each description. Student's photo can be taken and used for Augustana promotional purposes. (Photos will never be sold or used outside of Augustana.)

Summer Stretch Days

Grade: entering grades 7 - just graduated high school
Cost: $10 per day

Summer Stretch days will be divided between volunteering in the morning and enjoy recreational activities in the afternoon. Locations for morning and afternoon activities will change each day. We’ll have fun together as we spend time in the community! Lunch and snacks will be provided. Registration must be completed no later than one week prior to service to day so plans can be finalized.

High School Retreat at Giants Ridge

Tuesday, July 19 - Thursday, July 21
Grade: entering grades 10 - just graduated high school
Cost: $125

We are returning to a familiar place, Giants Ridge in Biwabik, MN! Instead of skiing, we’ll spend our time volunteering and being outdoors. It will be great few days spending time with old and new friends! Space is limited for this retreat.

Confirmation Lock-in at Base Camp

Friday, August 12 - Saturday, August 13
Grade: entering grades 7-9
Cost: $20

We'll meet at Augustana for dinner before going to Base Camp for a lock-in. During the lock-in, Base Camp Guides will lead awesome activities like rock climbing and archery. We'll take a break from the activities, halfway through the night, for a pizza party. After the activities end, it's time for a movie on the big screen! A minimum of 12 students is needed for the lock-in to take place.

Trip Guidelines & Expectations

1) All participants are expected to behave in a manner that shows respect for God, for self, for other persons, and for the property of all.

2) The possession or use of any illegal substance or weapon will not be tolerated. If a participant fails to meet these guidelines he/she is subject to immediate dismissal from that event. Attendance at future events will be granted by recommendation of the Director of YFM in consultation with the Youth and Family Ministry Committee. During out-of-state YFM events, appropriate disciplinary action will be subject to consultation with parent(s) or legal guardians and the pastors.

3) All overnight events we attend will have established times for curfew/lights out. In most cases these are set by the hosting or sponsoring organization. In situations where this is not the case our guidelines will be curfew (in your room, lights out) by 11:00pm.

There is a registration fee for each activity. You may complete your payment online or by mailing a check or cash to the church office. Please indicate Youth Summer Registration with your payment.
